Yallingup declared best town in Australia!

Ngili Cave in Yallingup

We knew it!

Domestic travel magazine 'Australian Traveller' has published its list of best Australian towns, declaring our quaint and beautiful Western Australian town the winner.

Bordering the west coast of the Margaret River Region and facing the Indian Ocean, Yallingup is most famous for dramatic coastline, which boasts jagged rocks, high cliff faces and giant waves.

Our small coastal hamlet beat both Byron Bay and Noosa for the top spot, who came in second and fourth respectively.

Third was Alice Springs, which editorial director Leigh Ann Pow said came down to the NT town’s “unique cultural events”.

Deputy editor Dan Down said Yallingup was now the highlight of any WA itinerary. This is great news for holiday home owners in the area. We hope that this recognition encourages more visitors to the region.

It’s all thanks to its wild surf beaches, acclaimed local wineries and world-renowned culinary scene underpinned by hot restaurant openings and the star-chef-driven Western Australia Gourmet.

The top Australian towns:

1. Yallingup, WA

2. Byron Bay, NSW

3. Alice Springs, NT

4. Noosa, Qld

5. Broome, WA

6. Port Fairy, Vic

7. Yamba, NSW

8. Merricks, Vic

9. Strahan, Tas

10. Coffin Bay, SA
