The importance of the Holiday Home Bedroom

Everyone, and I mean everyone wants to walk into the bedroom of a holiday home and feel like it’s a sanctuary. So best not to skimp on the bed, the mattress, doona, bedside tables or bedside lamps.

And don’t forget the cushions which give the whole bedroom a sense of style and personality. This is a bedroom from one of our holiday homes. It's simple, elegant and is in keeping with the style consistent throughout this lovely home. The European pillows would just give a bit of height near the headboard. But maybe I'm being too fussy!
The bedroom should include:
A headboard for starters, otherwise the bed looks like a lonely island
A good quality doona and doona cover and preferably a throw on the end of the bed
Two standard pillows for each person
Two cushions in front of your standard pillows
Ideally a European Pillow (not totally essential but does add that extra something) to be placed at the back of the pillows
You might think this is a tad excessive, but it’s all about first impressions. It’s about the feelings you evoke when your guest walks into the bedroom.
You want them to see plush pillows, a doona that you can't wait to sink into and soothing colours on the bed. It’s attention to detail like this that will get your guests coming back and referring your home onto their friends.
Plus, providing these extras will lead to more bookings and more money in your pocket which makes it a win, win all round. 😊
